National Mission Statement

To increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

Excelling Academically

Creative, engaging, and interactive programs are the primary vehicles through which NSBE fulfills. With over 2000 elected leadership positions, 12 regional conferences and an annual convention, NSBE provides opportunities for success that remain unmatched by any other organization.

Developing Leaders

We focus on our members through talent development and technical excellence programming. With more than 18,000 members, NSBE is the largest student- managed organization in the country. All chapters are geographically divided into six regions spreading across the nation.

Impacting the Community

Promote public awareness of engineering and the

 opportunities for Blacks and other minorities in that profession. NSBE, founded by 6 individuals on the campus of Purdue University in 1975
